Thelma was the first helpline counsellor for the National Child Helpline. She started her career as a volunteer counsellor at C-Sema back in 2012 and has since worked her way up from a Volunteers' Team Leader, Counsellors' Supervisor to her current position, the National Child Helpline Manager.
Thelma is a dynamic social worker with over 10 years experience in supervising and managing child protection programs, parenting education, sexual and reproductive health and community based programmes.
She is also a certified trainer in the area of Skillful Parenting, and is skilled in monitoring and evaluation (reviewing accuracy, and completeness of data collected and programme implementation), advocacy, work plan development and designing data collection tools.
She was part of the team that drafted the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children in Tanzania. Thelma holds a BA in Social Work and she is pursuing a Masters in Social Work.
